Meditation

The Primordial Sound Meditation is an in-depth Vedic meditation technique thought by the Chopra Center. The Chopra Center was established by Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon in the early 1990s in San Diego, California. At that time, in collaboration with scholars in the U.S. and India, Dr. Chopra, Dr. Simon and an expert meditation instructor, Roger Gabriel, revived and systematized this ancient meditation technique which has been tried and tested for thousands of years. Primordial Sound Meditation is part of the yoga tradition of India. Yoga means union of the body, soul, spirit and environment.

We now know through growing scientific evidence that meditation offers measurable health benefits and makes life better in some very meaningful ways – from disease prevention and pain management to better sleep, emotional well-being, and stress relief. Meditation affords us amid our busy, noisy, and often chaotic lives to practice silence and self-reflection as a mean to knowing ourselves better and gain a deeper grasp of who we are and why we are here. The trouble is we live in a time-starved, impatient culture that leads to overactive minds. So even if we do sit down to try meditation, we often find ourselves questioning what type of meditation to practice, whether we’re doing it long enough, and if we are doing it correctly.

The Primordial Sound Meditation course will take you on a journey that will enhance your own meditation practice and spiritual life. You will learn the history of meditation; the basics principles of meditation, meditation as an antidote to stress, the mantra as a vehicle, meditation procedures and much more. We will also touch on the Higher States of Consciousness that can be experienced through regular practice of meditation.
